What do you do if you're feeling anxious before an interview?
Here's the secret to effective affirmations.... You must believe they are true in order for them to work Otherwise, your brain will go to work figuring out all the ways they are not true So - come up with something that feels good AND true: 1 - "I am well-prepared and knowledgeable about my field." 2 - "I communicate my ideas clearly and effectively." 3 - "I have valuable skills and experiences that are a great fit for this role." 4 - "I bring unique perspectives that add value to teams." 5 - "I bring on calm with a single deep breath" Good luck!

What do you do if you're feeling anxious before an interview?
Visualize yourself showing up exactly how you want from start to finish - utilize all 5 senses (what do you see, smell, hear, touch...) 1: Confident body language - shoulders back, eye contact, purposeful movements 2: Feeling prepared for all the questions - "Oh! I was hoping you would ask that!" 3: Speaking with authority and ease 4: Sharing relevant skills, stories and tips 5: You ask insightful and thoughtful questions 6: Walking away with a firm handshake and feeling proud of the way you showed up Practice every day for as many days as you can - pop into the restroom if possible and envision again exactly how you imagined it right before the interview You got this 🙌🏼

What do you do if you're feeling anxious before an interview?
Two simple strategies (I often use both together): 1: I remind myself in any situation like this... "Fear is excitement without the breath" It reframes the experience for me - "Oh! There is excitement here!" And also.... reminds me to breathe 2: Try a 4 -7 -8 Breath Breathe in for 4 counts - hold for 7 - exhale for 8 The extended exhale is backed by science to lower stress and relax you You got this!
