Finding Comfort in the Space Between (Liminal Spaces...)

"Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible" - Mandy Hale

Wouldn't it be so amazing if we could actually get on board with this?? If we could appreciate the beauty of being in-between, enjoy the time 'here' without rushing to 'there'?

It's so hard though!

Our nature is to rush through whatever is going on right now, so we can get to that elusive there - effectively skipping over here and all that it has to offer.

This in-between is sometimes called a liminal space; you're on the brink of something new, but not quite there yet.

In transition. On the precipice.

You can be in a liminal space physically (in an elevator between floors) or emotionally (going through a divorce or break up).

You're not where you were, but not quite yet where you're headed.

This space between can feel uncomfortable at best, awful/scary/terrible at worst. It digs right into that fear we all have of the unknown.

Yet so much of our lives are spent in these places...

✨ Traveling

✨ Being in a hallway, waiting room or staircase

✨ Driving your children to every activity in a 30 mile radius

✨ Being pregnant

✨ Falling asleep

✨ Considering next steps for your life

✨ Being a fiance / getting married

✨ On hold with customer service

✨ Waiting on a test result from the doctor

✨ Between jobs or in the middle of a career change

✨ Retiring

✨ Making dinner

✨ Children getting older/leaving for college

✨ Learning anything new

Many of these middle places are innocuous, we're used to them, so they don't scare us too much.

But some of the others feel.... BIG.

Here are 3 ways you can create peace, ease, and even joy in those stickier liminal spaces:

✨ Practice mindfulness and being here now. This might come in the shape of taking a single mindful breath, meditating, practicing yoga, STOP practice, 54321 for Anxiety, etc...

Get comfy with discomfort. It's a recurring theme I know, and one we want to avoid and dismiss because... who wants to be uncomfortable?? Yet we know that discomfort is a prerequisite to growth, and we can practice embracing it rather than tightening the grip of resistance to it.

Join Life... On Purpose and experience first-hand the quick and powerful impact a community of supportive, like-minded women can have on your life. Create a solid self-care foundation, engaged awareness, and ease with what is, while you create an intentional way forward. YESSSS!!!!!!

"When nothing is certain, anything is possible" ✨

Have a beautiful week friends ♥️
