You’re getting a lot done… so why does it feel like this?

Lately, I’ve noticed that being productive doesn’t always feel as good as it used to.
Work gets done.
People are supported.
Nothing is falling apart.
And still, there’s this low-level mental tiredness that doesn’t always go away, even after rest.
It took me a while to notice because this kind of productivity doesn’t look like a problem.
It looks like being reliable.
Capable.
On top of things.
Over time though, it adds up.
Not because you’re doing anything wrong, but because your mind rarely gets a clear signal that it’s actually done.

5 simple ways to move forward
Nothing here is about doing less or lowering standards.
These are small shifts that help work take up less mental space.
1️⃣ Notice what’s still “on” after you stop working
↳ At the end of the day, ask: What am I still thinking about that I’m not actively working on anymore?
↳ That’s usually where the drain is.
2️⃣ Create a clear ending to your workday
↳ Even something simple helps - writing tomorrow’s top 3, closing your laptop, lighting a candle, changing rooms.
↳ Your brain needs a clear stop, not just a later bedtime.
3️⃣ Decide when you’re actually needed
↳ If you’re mentally available all the time “just in case,” work never really ends.
↳ Pick a few windows when you’re truly on - and let the rest be quieter.
4️⃣ Check for effort that doesn’t move things forward
↳ If you’re thinking about something repeatedly without new information or action, that’s usually a sign to pause, not push.
5️⃣ Use clarity as your success metric
↳ Ending the day a little clearer than you started matters more than checking every box.
↳ Clear work tends to feel lighter, even when it’s full.
Getting things done matters.
So does having the mental space to enjoy your life outside of it✨
Something worth paying attention to this week...
