5 Steps to a New Self Story

Here's your reminder that you are in charge of what you believe to be true of yourself and your life.... and 5 steps to change the narrative.

We all tell ourselves a story about who we are

This is your Self-Concept; it's what you believe about yourself

-- I'm punctual

-- I can't do anything right

-- I'm a great communicator

-- I'll never be good enough

You just know these thoughts are the 'truth' of who you are

But remember:

-- YOU are the creator of this story

-- YOU get to choose what to believe

-- YOU can change your mind any time

Choose to believe something AMAZING ✨

✨ T H R I V E

Follow these 5 steps to create evidence for the person you WANT to be:

STEP 1 -->

Write I AM at the top of a sheet of paper/journal

Then write your thoughts and beliefs about who you are

Good, bad, indifferent - get it all out

STEP 2 -->

Categorize what you’ve written into

3 columns:

- Helpful (Great, keep these!)

- Understand More (Think on these)

- Unhelpful (Challenge these!)

STEP 3 -->

Isolate one or two unhelpful thoughts

You'll know the ones

They'll feel sticky... and true

STEP 4 -->

Write down what you want to believe instead

Hint! I like to use "I'm working on xyz" because it feels believable

-- I'm working on speaking my mind

-- I'm working on accepting myself

-- I'm working on saying 'no'

STEP 5 -->

Write down evidence to support the new thought

You already have PLENTY of evidence of the old thought

Teach your brain to seek out something new

.... and it will

-- Say the thoughts out loud

-- Update your sheet often

-- Remind yourself you are in charge
