Before You Walk Into That Room, Dinner, Meeting...

Happy early Thanksgiving friends ❤️

Sharing a favorite practice today that reminds us we get to choose what we seek out in the situations and people around us.

Think about this:

-- Before you step into Aunt Linda's holiday dinner

-- In your 9 am meeting with your boss who barely knows you exist

-- At dinner with that college friend who talks about her kids all night

This has been a powerful practice in my life, hope it is for you as well.

(Imagine we all did this??)

Spiritual teacher Tara Brach calls this "Trusting the Gold" ✨

It's the practice of intentionally seeking out the light and goodness in others (and yourself).

Here's how you can use it to transform any interaction:

🧭 Set Your Inner Compass

↳Before walking through the door, remember:

↳There's gold in everyone.

↳Seek it out on purpose and you will find it.

👀 Look for the Gold In:

↳Someone's face when talking about their kids

↳How carefully someone listens when it matters

↳Small gestures of care you might otherwise miss

⚖️ Balance The Experience

↳Notice good while keeping boundaries clear

↳Find connection without losing yourself

↳Stay present while protecting your peace

Trusting in the gold isn't about ignoring reality...It's about choosing to notice the light that's already there ✨

What unexpected gold have you discovered in someone lately?

Always,

Carolyn
