3 Simple Questions When You Don't Know What to Do

I'm sharing a favorite story with you today that I read in a magazine years ago.
It has stuck with me ever since, and I come back to it often in moments of self-doubt, insecurity, and confusion:
A psychologist was being interviewed about her work around wisdom and inner knowing.
She was asked what we get wrong about wisdom.
Her simple response ~
"The greatest misconception about wisdom, is that we don't have it"
Let that one sink it....
We think we don’t have any wisdom... because we are so out of touch with it
So we ask everyone else.
Friends. Family. Experts. The internet. People we've never even met.
What should I do?
What would you do?
Am I making the right choice?
Sometimes their advice is helpful.
But sometimes we ask so many other people that we can't even hear ourselves anymore.
That's the part I've learned to pay attention to.
Remember...
Other people can give you perspective.
But they don't get the final vote on your life ✨

Before you ask someone else what they think:
Pause and ask yourself first.
✔ What do I already know?
✔ What feels right for me?
✔ If no one else's opinion existed, what would I choose?
Then...
Trust yourself enough to take one small step.
The goal isn't to always be right.
The goal is to stop assuming everyone else knows you better than you know yourself.
Have a great week!
