What if we're missing more than we realize

Ever notice how much of our attention automatically goes toward what’s wrong?

What we forgot.

What still needs fixing.

Who’s doing something better.

What we should be doing instead.

Why things are not exactly as we want them to be.

I think a lot of us live there without even realizing it.

Constantly scanning for problems, pressure, comparison, and what’s next.

Meanwhile, beautiful things are quietly happening right in front of us every single day🤍

A really good conversation.

The way the light hits the water on your morning walk.

Your dog resting her head on your leg.

That feeling when everyone’s finally home and laughing in the kitchen.

These are the glimmers. Those brief moments of joy, connection, peace, or meaning that we usually rush right past.

But I've been realizing something:

The things we pay attention to don't just shape our days.

They shape our experience of life.

And if we're not careful, we can spend so much time focused on what's wrong that we miss a lot of what's right.

The more attention we give to beauty, connection, joy, and meaning… the more we start noticing it everywhere.

1️⃣ Keep track of your own glimmers

↳ A beautiful sky. Your kid laughing in the next room. A meaningful conversation. Train your brain to notice what’s good too.

2️⃣ Pause when something feels good

↳ Most of us rush right past joyful moments without fully taking them in.

3️⃣ Spend a few minutes outside without multitasking

↳ No scrolling. No podcast. Just pay attention to what’s around you.

4️⃣ Phone down. Look people in the eyes when they’re talking

↳ Attention is one of the simplest forms of love and connection.

5️⃣ Ask yourself: “What have I been paying attention to lately?”

↳ Because what consistently holds your attention slowly shapes your mood, mindset, and experience of life.

There is more beauty in ordinary life than most of us realize.

Our work is to slow down enough to notice them.

Share a glimmer from your week with a family member tonight, notice what happens✨
